American student visa consultants are suppose to secure I-20 ( see sample ) after completing the required procedure with the respective school/ college/ universities, student can apply directly too if they have required expertise. Once the I-20 is issued student has to schedule the appointment at American Consulate in the respective area it falls. At American Consulate student is suppose to appear in person 15-30 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. Interview may be conducted by a single (generally) officer or may be by more than one officer.
After you receive the I-20 all international students are suppose to activate SEVIS accounts, currently the fee is US $'s 200, which can be paid by cheque & credit card. For credit card you may log in at www.FMJfee.com operate SEVIS, make the payment by credit card, take a print out of confirmation which is mandatory at the time of interview. Remember you may operate SEVIS even few hours before the interview, but it is strongly advised to operate in advance, as some times the site may be unoperational due to any reason.

Send Financials as per requirement
American universities need proof of funds equal to one year tuition fee and living expenses (generally equal to 10,000 US $'s). This can be in the shape of any liquid assets.
GRE, GMAT, IELTS scores officially
As top ranking institutions accept scores being sent officially, you may contact your examination conducting body to do it.. You may send scores to four universities free of cost, if at the time of examination you inform your test conducting body.
Do Follow up
Follow up is very important for admissions, as this increases the chances for completing any left outs as well as developing the rapport with your guide.
Admission will be released
Once the admission is done, you are issued I- 20.
Pay the Fees
You can pay the SEVIS fee by credit card online.
Embassy fee of 160 US $ is to be paid at nearest Axis Bank after filling the form DS-160.
Documentation for Embassy
For preparing documentations of embassy, you may take into consideration the funds required & the source of funds. Everything should be specific. Fill in the appropriate forms
Deposit the documents to nearest VFS
All the documents with appropriate embassy fee & photographs to be deposited with nearest VFS centre.
