New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships – 2013 Awards.

ETS cancels GRE exams in India!

Citing technical reasons, ETS cancelled online test appointments for number of Graduate Record Examination aspirants, who have booked the appointments months before till Feb 2013.

The message circulated to the candidates speaks;

"We regret to inform that your test appointments scheduled with Prometric had to be cancelled due to technical glitches experienced by the site," candidates should get in touch with Prometric for an alternative date and venue for the test.

Scholarship Details:

The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) scheme is funded by the Commonwealth Government through the Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Its purpose is to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in higher education institutions to support Australia's research effort. Approximately 15 scholarships may be available in 2012 for international students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in areas of University research strengths.
  • Course tuition fees for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only)
  • Health insurance cover for students.
  • All successful IPRS applicants will also receive an Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) place which provides an annual living allowance of approximately $22,860 (2011 value) for the normal duration of the program.
  • Applicants should hold at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree. This is a four year degree with a major research project in the final year. Other criteria that will be taken into consideration is undergraduate performance, bachelor and honours awards and scholarships, other postgraduate degrees, publications in refereed journals, the presentation of conference papers and relevant industry experience.
Applications for these scholarships are always highly competitive. Generally IPRS recipients have completed a Masters degree including a significant research component and have several publications and relevant work and research experience.

One should have completed bachelor's degree in the subject concerned indicated above with minimum 60% marks in Business and Finance and 65% in Agriculture. Value of Awards of Miss

The scholarship covers

Awards for Master's

degree is for one to two years depending on the courses and for Ph.D., the tenure is for three years. Application for admission to the university is solely the candidate's responsibility. Interested applicants are advised to apply before the beginning of the academic year, which falls on the month of July for most of Malaysian university. However, proof of admission is not a pre-requisite to the award. The selection committee for CSFP Scholarship will only consider qualified applicants with outstanding academic achievement and professional performance. Moreover, the scholarship award does not guarantee a placement in the university.

Each application must be accompanied by attested copies of (a) certificate of age (b) mark-sheets of the qualifying examination (c) all degrees/diplomas/certificates (d) reference letter(to be submitted at the time of interview


Candidates who have already been abroad for study/training/specialization either on scholarship or on their own for a period not exceeding six months are eligible to apply only if they have been in India for at least two consecutive years after their return from abroad as on 28.2.2011.

Applications of candidates who are abroad will not be considered.

Candidates must furnish a clear and precise programme of study/research (minimum 500 words) justifying their studies in Malaysia.

Those who have already completed Ph.D. in India or abroad need not apply.

Candidates should have adequate knowledge of geographical situation, cultural heritage of India and the donor country.

Documents submitted alongwith the applications will not be returned. Hence, candidates are advised to send only the photocopies of the certificates etc. duly attested by competent authority. Self attested certificates will not be accepted.

Since these scholarships are offered by Foreign Government, applications should invariably be submitted in  English only.
 

Experience has to be supported by documentary evidence.

Candidates must have good knowledge of written and spoken English (The donor country reserves the right to request evidence of having passed an accredited English language test).
 

Applicants are required to be of sound health and awards are subject to successful candidates' satisfying a prescribed medical examination by donor country.

Employed candidates must send their application through their employers or enclosed a "No Objection Certificate".

Mere fulfillment of requirements as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate for interview. Interview letters in a particular subject are sent only to the best candidates after their applications are judged by a duly constituted Selection Committee of Experts.

Applications not in the prescribed proforma and application received after the prescribed date and incomplete applications will not be considered.

Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
 

The Selection committee's decision about candidates for interview or selecting a candidate for nomination will be final. NO REPRESENTATIONS IN THIS REGARD WILL BE ENTERTAINED.
